On 2nd and 3rd March 2016 the RECODE Network hosted a two-day Sandpit to fund three feasibility studies. The Event was held at The SWAN Hotel in Bedford. The event had 31 participants from different UK Universities, industry and other organisations including, Unilever, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, and Innovate UK. Tim Morley and Liz Ogilvie from KnowInnovation facilitated the activities.
Tim and Liz took participants from getting to know each other, share views on the opportunities and challenges for RdM now and in the future, to build teams to deliver feasible project proposals that could be funded. In addition, three inspirational speakers including Kristie McIntyre - Director, Environmental Operations at HP, Ian Charlton - Manufacturing Director of Unilever R&D and Lynne McGregor - Lead Technologist at Innovate UK talked about the opportunities of RdM from their own perspective.
