15 years in Unilever R&D, Ian Charlton is Innovative Manufacturing Director of Unilever R&D, predominantly working in the field of Processing & Engineering Science & Technology. Ian has worked at various parts of the innovation process - from front-end delivery into production sites, to longer term R&D programmes & strategy. His product experience ranges from Laundry Liquids, Hair & Skin Care, Deodorants across a range of formats Liquids, Aerosols, Powders & Solids, and has worked in Port Sunlight, Leeds, Bangkok & Shanghai, recently moving to Colworth to look after the long term R&D Processing & Manufacturing Technology programme for Ice Cream & Beverages. His current focus is in using Processing Technology as a competitive weapon, creating value in business, supply chain and with consumers. For example:

- Opening D&E space through re-designing Ice Cream manufacturing principles
